Dear Friends and Neighbors,

It has been one of the greatest honors of my life to serve as your Harlingen City Commissioner in District 2.  When I first ran for office, I committed to building a better Harlingen para todos. Over the past three years, I have worked hard to breathe life into our collective vision for a greater Harlingen: better infrastructure, better public services, and better-paying jobs.

Together, we have already made significant strides toward a brighter future for our city. Our progress is the product of collaboration—city staff working diligently behind the scenes, local organizations and businesses investing in our potential, and citizens contributing their time, talents, and resources. Through these partnerships, Harlingen has become safer, stronger, more resilient, and increasingly prosperous.

As we look to the future, I remain committed to building a city where opportunity is within reach for all, where our families can thrive, and where our shared efforts accelerate us towards a better Harlingen. It is the realization of that vision that will be our legacy for our children and grandchildren. We must show future generations that we made the tough decisions: investment in infrastructure, improvements to public services, and development of our local economy, all in the effort to give them better opportunities.

And that is why I must continue my work as your City Commissioner. Not for the title. Not for the personal glory. But to make our children and grandchildren proud to be Harlingen residents. As proud as I am. As my family is. As you are.

Therefore, with great vigor and excitement, I announce my candidacy for re-election to continue to serve Harlingen and you, its esteemed residents.

I humbly ask for your support and your vote so we can continue the work we’ve started – together.

Sincerely,

- Daniel Nemecio Lopez
